2nd full-length album from the Maryland/Pennsylvania collective
FULL OF HELL. It is often cited as the record that cemented their reputation as one of the most terrifying and unpredictable forces in modern Extreme Music.
The album is a volatile collision of Grindcore, Powerviolence, and Sludge, but its most distinct feature is the pervasive use of harsh noise. Unlike their peers, FULL OF HELL integrates static and feedback as a core instrument rather than just an intro or outro.
Vocalist
Dylan Walker described the title as a reference to the
"innate and basic need to suffer and cause suffering." This lyrical focus on the ugliness of the human pulse gives the record a much
"colder" and more nihilistic feeling than standard Hardcore.
The record is famous for its pacing. It can shift from a sub-one-minute blast-beat explosion like
"Coven Of The Larynx" to the agonizing, slow-motion crawl of tracks like
"The Lord Is My Light." --
