Hailing from Osaka, Japan, BURDEN OF DESPAIR has been a quietly formidable force in the underground since their formation in 2004. Founded by guitarist Yoshihiro Takemura (aka 7405926) (ex-Cryptic Revelation, Dyingrace), the band released two demos before going dormant for years, eventually resurfacing with a brand new lineup in 2021 and dropping the Desecration EP in early 2022.
"Confutatis" released on March 26th, 2025, marks their long-awaited debut full-length studio album — and it was well worth the wait.
A crushing slab of old-school Death/Doom Metal, "Confutatis" drags the listener through suffocating heaviness and mournful atmospheres.
