DAYGLO ABORTIONS (Canada) – Here Today Guano Tomorrow (cassette tape) (1988) Original Canadian version. Canadian Hardcore jokesters and all-around merchants of shock take a goofy stab at Crossover Thrash and wind up making a semi-classic better than 98% of the albums in that genre.

Dayglo Abortions appear to be jumping headfirst into this musical trend, but even on their classic Feed Us a Fetus it's apparent they're already fans of Heavy Metal music (remember "acting like Black Sabbath?"), and by just merely glancing at these song titles, they're totally taking the piss out of Metal and topics that were popular in Metal (dragons, Satan, the HP Lovecraft being Yog Sothoth, as a few examples.) Luckily, the band knows how to incorporate the Metal influence into their juvenile, crackhead schtick to make an album that doesn't feel stale or like an assembly line copycat. Lots of classic songs here, the fan favourite has to be the cautionary car ride to Hell tale, "Drugged and Driving," alternating between a deliberate mid-tempo stomp and all-out Thrash.
