Product Details
NIRVANA – Nevermind (used CD copy) (1991) Released by DGC/Sub Pop in a standard jewel case w/black tray. **CD is scratched and could benefit from being re-surfaced**
Originally released on
September 24th, 1991,
"Nevermind" is the
2nd full-length studio album by
NIRVANA and the record that effectively moved alternative rock into the global mainstream, famously
"killing" the dominance of Hair Metal.
It was the band's major-label debut on
DGC Records and marked the first appearance of drummer
Dave Grohl, completing the definitive
NIRVANA lineup.
Produced by
Butch Vig and recorded primarily at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California, the album is celebrated for its "polished but powerful" production.
Vig famously persuaded
Kurt Cobain to double-track his vocals by reminding him that
John Lennon did the same.
The record was mixed by
Andy Wallace
(who had recently worked with Slayer
), giving the drums and guitars a heavy, radio-ready punch that balanced the band’s Punk energy with massive pop hooks.
The barcode on this release is not in a white box, it is all black.
Track 12 contains a
hidden track - total track time of track 12 including silence is
20:36
