Product Details
RUSH - (Self-Titled) (used CD copy) (1997) Anthem Records (re-issue) "The RUSH Remasters" in a standard jewel case w/clear tray.
In the band's massive studio album discography, this is Number 1. It was originally released on their own independent label, Moon Records in 1974, before being picked up by Mercury Records after a Cleveland DJ began spinning "Working Man."
The
Self-Titled debut from the Canadian legends is a fascinating outlier in their discography. Released before drummer and primary lyricist
Neil Peart joined the band, this album captures
RUSH as a high-energy Hard Rock power trio heavily influenced by the British Blues-Rock explosion of the early 70's.
You'll hear heavy, guitar-driven riffs and
Robert Plant-esque soaring vocals from
Geddy Lee.
Unlike the complex progressive structures they became famous for later, these tracks are raw, punchy, and built for arenas.
This is the
only studio album to feature original drummer
John Rutsey, whose style was more rooted in traditional Rock 'n' Roll.
