April 3rd, 2007, the album saw the band leaning further into their
"Thrash" influences while polishing their melodic sensibilities for a wider audience.
The album features a noticeably "cleaner" production compared to The War Within. While it maintains the double-kick precision of Jason Bittner, there is a greater emphasis on soaring vocal harmonies from Brian Fair and intricate, layered guitar solos from Jon Donais.
The lead single,
"Redemption," earned the band their 2nd
Grammy nomination for
Best Metal Performance, solidifying their place at the forefront of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal.
