The Australian Brutal Death Metal band's 2nd full-length studio effort features 10 tracks and a play time of 32:14.  The quality of the recording and tone of the guitars is crisp and punchy, yet doesn’t lose any of its crunch and muddy, meaty grind to the modern recording production. The drums have a tight and organic live sound; you can even hear drum sticks click periodically during silence to signal a transition in some tracks. 
The bass is thick, beefy and adds a nice fat low end to balance out the guitars. It isn’t varying much (if at all) from what the guitars are doing, but I don’t think that is necessarily a bad thing being as the riffs are complex and spastic enough without random bass wanking to accompany them. 
If you’ve made your way this far into the underground world of Death Metal, you probably know what you are getting into with the vocals. Guttural grunting and growling dominate most of this record, with little variation to the realms of high screaming except on “Forced Adornment Of The Funerary Crown,” done by Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder. 
Trevor’s high vocals add a haunting contrast to the lows that really showcase how disturbing his screams can be when paired with this style of brutality, and really helps the album start to round out and gain closure. Jordan James’ vocals really add a misanthropic undertone to the album that is hellish, otherworldly, and almost unsettling. As it should be. 
DISENTOMB have created a perfect balance of listenability and brutality.
 Miles ahead of their debut "Sunken Chambers Of Nephilim," "Misery" simply feels like 
more. 
Not only is the album slightly longer, but the sheer density and 
freshness of the composition provides a near-endless amount of replay
