The EXD cassette by IMPLODERS is a live radio session that captures the raw, kinetic energy of one of Toronto’s most prominent Modern Hardcore bands. Released in late 2021, this tape serves as a bridge between their debut 7" and their first full-length LP.
IMPLODERS specialize in a style often described as "classic American Hardcore attack." Their sound draws heavy comparisons to early 80's California bands like the Circle Jerks, Zero Boys, and The Consumers.
EXD specifically captures the band "with all the dials in the red." It’s a crisp, high-fidelity live recording that avoids the muddiness of a typical basement demo while retaining a frantic, "off-the-floor" atmosphere. The tape is notable for debuting six new songs that hadn't appeared on their previous 7", played with the speed of a Hardcore band but the melodic hooks of Classic Punk.
