SAXON (UK) - Unleash The Beast (used CD copy) (1997) Released by CMC International Records/BMG Music Canada in a standard jewel case w/black tray.

The legendary UK Heavy Metal band's 13th full-length studio album originally released on October 13th, 1997

While many fans view the 1980's as SAXON's "golden era," "Unleash The Beast" is widely regarded as the record that saved their career and redefined their sound for the modern age. It stripped away the polished, radio-friendly "glam" attempts of the late '80s and replaced them with a darker, heavier, and more aggressive approach.

This was the first album to feature guitarist Doug Scarratt, who replaced founding member Graham Oliver. Scarratt brought a more technical, biting, and "metallic" edge to the songwriting. His chemistry with Paul Quinn created a denser wall of sound that leaned into Power Metal and Speed Metal territories, moving away from the band's traditional Hard Rock roots.

Released during a time when traditional heavy metal was struggling against the tide of Grunge and Nu-Metal—this album was a "stake in the ground." It proved that NWOBHM legends could evolve without losing their identity. It was so successful that it allowed Saxon to tour North America again after nearly a decade-long absence.
"Unleash The Beast" isn't just a "solid" album; it’s the blueprint for everything SAXON has done in the 25+ years since.

The album has a notably grim and "mystic" atmosphere, largely thanks to the production by Kalle Trapp (Blind Guardian)
