Originally released in 2008 through Metal Blade Records, Misanthropy Pure is the 3rd full-length studio album from the Progressive Hardcore pioneers SHAI HULUD. This record marked a triumphant return after a five-year hiatus, serving as the bridge between the raw emotion of their 1997 debut and the technical, orchestral complexity they would later master.
Musically, "Misanthropy Pure" combines Hardcore, Thrash, Punk and Metal, and siphons influence from diverse sources, ranging from Metallica to Burn to Testament to Dead Kennedys to Circle Jerks. 
"We were influenced by Youth of Today and Testament from day one", founding member and guitarist, Matt Fox says proudly of the days before the term "Metalcore" even existed. 
He admits to upping the ante, by refusing to adhere to trends or to cash in on some musical renaissance.
