YOTH IRIA (Greece) - Gone With The Devil (sealed CD copy) (2026) Released by Metal Blade Records in a standard jewel case w/clear tray & 12-page booklet.
A Landmark in Hellenic Black Metal
Released on May 8th, 2026, "Gone With The Devil" is the 3rd full-length studio album from the Athenian powerhouse YOTH IRIA.
Led by legendary bassist and lyricist Jim Mutilator (a founding member of black metal pioneers Rotting Christ and Varathron), the album represents a definitive evolution for the band, cementing their status as a major force in the contemporary Extreme Metal landscape.
"Gone With The Devil" is an ambitious, cinematic fusion of styles. While deeply rooted in the majestic, melody-driven tradition of Hellenic Black Metal, the record expands into broader territories, incorporating the use of traditional Mediterranean strings, flutes, and reed instruments creates a ritualistic, ancient aura.
Featuring powerful vocal work by He, the album alternates between harsh, aggressive growls, ritualistic chanting, and theatrical clean vocals. The guitar work—crafted by Nikolas Perlepe and Naberius—incorporates harmonious leads reminiscent of classic Heavy Metal and the melodic flair of 90's Black Metal titans like Dissection.
The album boasts an organic, high-clarity sound that allows Mutilator’s thunderous bass and Vongaar’s hypnotic, driving percussion to stand out with immense power. The album serves as a philosophical and spiritual exploration of power, faith, and defiance. The title, "Gone With The Devil", explores the paradox of a world governed by religious structures that denounce evil while simultaneously creating the "Hell" they condemn.
Lucifer is portrayed not as a figure of terror, but as a symbol of light, rebellion, and personal freedom. Throughout its ten tracks, the album functions as a call to arms for the individual to find inner strength against oppressive societal and spiritual systems. Metal Blade Records – 3984-16204-2
