"Behind The Scenes", released on September 3, 2021, is the debut full-length studio album by the Ottawa, Canada-based Death Metal band DEAD SOUL ALLIANCE.
After over a decade of releasing EP's and demos, this album solidified the band's position in the "Old School Death Metal" (OSDM) revival, offering a heavy, no-nonsense tribute to the genre's early 90's roots.
The album is a masterclass in classic Death Metal, culling influences from both the American (think Baphomet or Morpheus Descends) and European (Grave, Asphyx, and Benediction) scenes.
It strikes a balance between "blasting savagery" and "girthy grooves." While the production is modern enough to be punchy, it retains a "filthy" and organic quality that avoids the sterile sound of many Modern Metal releases.
