It's clear that "Chasm" is MUTILATION RITES's hardest hitting, most visceral and immediate effort. This album is far more reminiscent of its tried and true strength; an ability to craft material that's just as relentless as it is hypnotic. 
The transitions flow naturally and seamlessly.  Consider it atmospheric Black/Death Metal if you will, but "atmosphere" isn’t the guiding flame as "Chasm" is gorged with the groove-hurling ashes of early 90’s Black and Death Metal riffs.
