BLIND GUARDIAN (Germany) – A Past And Future Secret (used Maxi-Single CD copy) (1995) Released by Virgin Records - this CD version has printed inlay backside w/lyrics, release info, photos etc.
Released in March 1995 via Virgin Records, "A Past And Future Secret" served as the lead CD maxi-single teasing German Power Metal icons BLIND GUARDIAN’s seminal 5th studio album, "Imaginations From The Other Side."
Recorded at Copenhagen's famous Sweet Silence Studios under the guidance of acclaimed producer Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica), this four-track release captures the band at a pivotal point in their transition from Speed Metal pioneers to grand, Symphonic Metal masters.
The single's titular track, "A Past And Future Secret," is an iconic folk-tinged acoustic ballad woven from the lore of King Arthur and Merlin, showcasing Hansi Kürsch’s dynamic vocals alongside rich acoustic arrangements.
The release is bolstered by the blistering 7-minute epic title track "Imaginations From The Other Side," a heavy-hitting cover of Uriah Heep's classic rock anthem "The Wizard," and an exclusive orchestral mix of the title ballad.
"A Past And Future Secret" remains an essential collector's piece for fans of 1990's European Power Metal and Epic Fantasy storytelling. -- Virgin – 7243 8927442 4, Virgin – 892744 2
