This limited edition 2CD set, released in 2018 by Dissonance Productions under license from Nuclear Blast, serves as a poignant and powerful anthology of a specific era for the Canadian Progressive Thrash Metal legends. It compiles the two studio albums fueled by the final recordings of founding guitarist Denis "Piggy" d'Amour, who passed away in 2005.
The significance of these recordings cannot be overstated. Before his passing, Piggy left behind a series of guitar tracks on his laptop, which he had phonetically labeled "Katorz" (fourteen). The surviving members—Snake (vocals), Away (drums), and Jasonic (Jason Newsted on bass) painstakingly built these two albums around those original tracks to honor his final creative vision.
Disc 1: Katorz (2006)
Originally released in 2006, Katorz is a lean, driving record that stripped away some of the band's more sprawling progressive tendencies in favor of a punchier, "Classic Metal" feel. It features a raw, immediate energy, with Newsted’s bass providing a massive, distorted bedrock for Piggy’s signature dissonant chords.
Disc 2: Infini (2009)
The band's 12th full-length studio album, Infini, was released three years later and covers the remaining material Piggy had written. It leans much further into the technical and avant-garde style found on Nothingface and Dimension Hatröss.
